About the Author
T. Jock Murray, MD, is currently professor emeritus of Medicine and Neurology and former Dean of Medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS, Canada. Dr. Murray was also founder and President of the Consortium of MS Centers, where he was awarded for his lifetime contributions to MS research. He served as Vice President of the American Academy of Neurology and two terms as Chairman of the American College of Physicians. Widely published, he is the author of Multiple Sclerosis: The History of a Disease, which was awarded the ForeWord Silver Medal as the best book on history in 2005.
Carol S. Saunders, BA, BSN, MSCN, has been a nurse specializing in MS issues for 27 years. She was the Director of Patient Care at the Neurology Center of Fairfax, Virginia, for twenty-three years and a member of the Consortium of MS Centers since 1989. She was a founding member of the International Organization of MS Nurses. In 2008, she was honored as a Volunteer of the Year by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She is the author of What Nurses Know Multiple Sclerosis. Carol lives in San Diego and is active in the NMSS chapter there.
Nancy J. Holland, EdD, RN, MSCN, has worked on over sixty MS-related articles, chapters, and books including Multiple Sclerosis: A Guide for the Newly Diagnosed, Third Edition. She was the vice president of the Professional Resource Center and Clinical Programs Department at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in New York.
