Aditya Shivane has been working as a Consultant Neuropathologist in Derriford Hospital, Plymouth since 2009. He graduated from India in 1998. After completing post-graduation (MD, taught) in Pathology from Mumbai University (2001) he worked briefly as a Senior Registrar in the Department of Neuropathology at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, India, before coming to the UK to undertake specialist Neuropathology training in Leeds. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2008. His areas of interest include CNS tumours, neuromuscular disorders and ophthalmic pathology. He is actively involved in teaching neuropathology to undergraduate and postgraduate students and serves as an academic tutor at the Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry (PUPSMD).
